Head suggestions for SWR 4x12 Cab?

As soon as you mentioned Robbie Merrill it all came back to me. I remember in the early '00's when this cab was released. At the time I was so pleased with my swr 4x10's that I never thought to give these heavier cabs a try. I remember discounting them because they didn't have a horn either.

Looking at them now they are more appealing. I bet the tolex holds up much better than the carpet!

My head recommendation would be a 750x :)

I had a pair of those (12-stacks) and a pair of the matching 2x12's (12-packs). There was an older SWR 2x12 that used Bag End drivers but these use Eminence. I had the TS specs - not much Xmax, so you won't get a lot of low end out of them, but they were designed to cut through dense rock mixes with thick midrange (I believe they emanated as a custom cab for Robbie Merrill of Godsmack). They sound great with overdrive and I really liked them with my Sansamp rigs as well as my SVT-CL.

Your 12-Stack sounds fine to me, thanks. Other than weight, doesn't seem like too much for the OP.

Hey, I read though some of the posts in the link you sent. Im serriously considering getting two 2x10s and stacking vertically. It would be great to have something smaller to handle. Im still going to keep this cab though.

3Pro is pretty anemic power wise - Sansamp makes several great preamps which were the foundation for the Landmark 600 head in the video. Check out the RPM preamp - you should be able to find it and a power amp used which will give you a pretty stellar rig.

What kind of power amp could I use with the RPM preamp? Could I just use any power amp?

I really don't know anything about this stuff, its confusing.:bag:
