Headlights have become way too bright

The pale blue ones are the worst, I think they're calling them Cobalt lights or something like that.
I often think folks have their brights on & it turns out they don't :bored:

hmm, Xenon seems to be those new extra bright ones!

You are correct. I hold my high beams on any oncoming cars that have lights that are just too bright. Sure, they flash their (even brighter) high beams. I don't care. I let them hold my high beams until we pass each other. It's ridiculous to think you need to be able to see half a mile ahead of yourself. You don't. It's just another example of people thinking "more is better". Sometimes it isn't.

Ha, that happens to me sometimes, but the memorable time was when a guy was making a left at a stoplight in front of me...
as the headlights came across our faces, they just seemed terribly bright, so I flashed mine
dude stops the car, backs up so he's aiming right at me & then turns on his even brighter lights :rollno:

for a couple of seconds I thought he was going to try and ram us, but he finally continued onto the interstate

Fear not fellow bass players!! As we speak (or type), there is technology in THE WORKS that will allow headlights on vehicles to become "adaptive"---sensors will detect oncoming vehicles and/or pedestrians and adjust the angle of the beam ever so slightly so as not to appear so bright. This technology is already installed on a few production vehicles---soon to become industry standard.

What the...? :rollno: Is that the headlight version of mine is bigger than yours? o_O

I agree that headlights are too bright. I've recently come to this same realization as I have recently had cause to be driving two-lane country roads at night, and I've been getting the high-beam flash about every other car. I flash back and unlike you, they realize its not my high-beams, and they drop theirs.

FWIW, I drive a factory stock 2016 Acura MDX. No fog lights, or anything else extra. Yeah, them damn lights must be real bright. What am supposed to do to get you to drop your high-beams and stop putting me (and you) in danger? Turn off my lights altogether? I got no other options.
