Headphone amp / digital interface for silent practice with Yousician - Irig HD X alternative

Hello,

I am new on this forum, and also quite new in playing Bass.
I am learning it through the Yousician App on IPAD

I am currently looking for a set of component to play bass silently, with a goud sound quality

I have purchased an Irig HD X digital interface, which seemed to be the perfect gear for my needs:
- headphone output with mixing of the sound of my bass and a backing track from any app including yousician
- Promise of a good sound quality
- Digital input and IPAD connexion for notes recognition in Yousician
- Opportunity to play with different sounds thanks to Amplitude.

That seemed to be perfect but the problem is that the headphone sound volume output of the Irig HdX is too low
I am playing a Yamaha TRBX 304 active bass with volume set to max...and the volume is also set to max on Irig HDX headphone output

The headphone I tried is definitely not a studio one... It was a standard gaming one, then i tried with my Sony WH-1000XM3 with a jack connection: not better

it seems that there is no input Gain on the Irig to boost output...

Do you have any idea to solve my problem: with this Irig HD-X or with an alternative product ?

Your IPad and irig should be enough. I do something similar at home. I think the issue you have is the impedance of your headphones. Usually a company will include impedance values on the spec sheet. There is a ratio of impedance to volume, can't remember whether less impedance is more volume or vice versa. Should easy enough to find though. As far as headphone amps go they are an active device and require a battery or being plugged in. I have the Mackie version (works with power supply only) that's clean and works great. Just watch your hearing with headphones you can do some serious permanent damage to your hearing with prolonged exposure to high level spl.
