Do the Bass FlyRigs work for anyone here? Seems like an interesting idea but I read the reviews of them and basically it sounded like people didn't like the sounds apart from the preamp, which you can get seperately for less.

I have one of these, a B3 and a B1X-ON, all great pedals. You can't go wrong with the B1Four, truly portable, some killer sounds, you can alter and create patches, and yes, the drum machine is really handy. Very lightweight, yeah, this would be great choice, IMO.

Love my PJ BigHead, but no effects and it's not a DI. But for a high quality, great sounding, crystal clear pre with an aux in/headphones out, it is unbeatable.

When I travel, I use an apogee jam. Should work on pc, not sure about Android though

I use the Ashdown "Tone pocket", fantastic little unit, does almost everything you want except for the effects and sounds great.

Another vote for the Phil Jones, Big Head Pro. Everything you need for practice, also take a look at their headphones. They are EQ'ed a little bass heavy so it is easy to hear the bass track in the Aux feed.

The model number is HA-2. Their is an older HA-1, but the HA-2 (Pro) is the way to go.

This is also what I use for headphone practice. The DI is an easy enough problem to solve this. Just get a separate, passive DI box. That's still a very compact, flexible setup.

The TC Electronic SpectraDrive also looks really cool and has everything you're looking for, although the FX are somewhat limited. It has compression and OD by default, but the TonePrint capability might give you some more options. I don't have any first hand experience with it.

So, I don't really know where to put this, but I'm looking for something to play my bass through while traveling.

I have a Bass Rockman, but it's almost 35 years old and starting to fail.

A couple of things I saw in the past were the Bass Pod Pro and the Tascam Bass Trainer. These are apparently no longer made, I know they're old tech.

I would like something small and portable, that has an aux input and a headphone jack.

Effects are a plus, as well as the ability to be used as a preamp or DI in a pinch.

Something like Fly Rig or a Geddy/ Dug Fly Rig, but with headphone and aux capabilities as well.

Does such a thing exist?

Vox Amplug. Super simple, sounds great, around $40. Doesn't do super hi-fi, but the default tone is a nice vintage rock vibe.
