Headphone jack issue

So I have a weird problem with my headphone jack on my Orange Crush 100. When I plug a pair of headphones into the line output, they act like a microphone and not headphones.

I have not the slightest idea why and no idea how to fix it, if this is even a problem. I could very well just being doing something dumb. Any suggestions?

headphones and microphones work the same way.. you can plug a shure sm58 into the output of a tape recorder and you'll have a mono earphone for playback

If this is your amp, you don't have a headphone out.

I remember trying something like that years ago--but it was a cheaper mic.
And you can use headphones as a mic as well.
But I would only do that for fun, or if you wanted a sound that wasn't the norm.
