i was wondering if any one can give me any info on a really good setup for using headphones, so i can use them for practicing in silence... (roomates)e.c.t i have headphones that i picked up. but they are for guitar and makes bass sound real tinny!! any help or leads towards bass one's???

Double Bass headphones for silent practice???

A set of decent studio type headphones is a good investment for anyone. Check this fairly recent thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235245&highlight=headphones
The two that I've used and can recommend without hesitation are the Sony 7506 and the AKG K240. The Sonys are closed and keep out a lot of external sound and the AKGs are much more open allowing more external sound. Both are studio quality and at around $100 are a lot of bang for the buck.

I don't have one myself but a touring guitar tech friend of mine has one in his tuning station and he thinks a lot of the thing. I've talked to Walter a couple of times and he's a great guy. I have a little one a guy built for me years ago...not as nice as the CW but it does the job.
