Headphones

I'm curious as to what would be a good pair of headphones to use for my bass trainer. I can't really make out the really low notes with the basic headphones that I currently use.

the sony mdr v6 is pretty good and affordable, i haven't had any issues with them

The Sony MDR XB1000 looks promising, but a little expensive. They have 70mm drivers, whereas most headphones have 40 or 50 mm drivers. I don't own a pair, yet.

I like the Audio Technica ATH-M50 set that I have. They have pretty clean, non-muddy bass. I was also considering Sennheiser HD280 ones too, and I have since used them and they were nice. Those would probably be my personal top two picks.

Sony, Audio-Technika, Sennheiser, Grado.
Sometimes with models numbers that vary a bit, but those are always the major players.

At least every couple of weeks...

When I bought mine, I searched for 'headphones', followed up on the brands I wanted to investigate further, and made a purchase. These four brands were represented in dozens of nearly identical queries.

OK - I get it that sometimes tastes and availability change over time, but when the same four players show up each and every week, you can probably sense a trend...

Should probably be a sticky somewhere - but I don't know where. Here in BG | Miscellaneous is probably as good as any...

I have both. Like them both. The M50's are better.
Good Beats killers. Plenty of punchy low end without being obnoxious.
