Quick question for you guys, I overlooked when buying the unit. I've just read the manual quickly but couldn't find if you can mix your dry signal with the effects. Maybe I need to read it again more thoroughly. You guys know if this unit does allow you to mix in your dry signal?
Ok. So basically using 1 path purely for your dry signal , and the second for the effects. Would that pose any limits on the amount of effects one can chain in the second path?
There are 3 possible signal paths. If you want to mix a dry signal in and use the HeadRush to its full potential, I would advise you to split the signal before it hits the Gigboard.
What method of connection do you guys use? I am currently just going straight from my bass into the unit and then into the input on the amp. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the sound, even though the quality of the effects is apparent. I'm thinking the compressor, EQ and drive effects should go into the input of the amp, while modulation and delays/reverbs should go into the effects loop. I'm a real novice to effects so this is quite overwhelming and the possibilities seem endless. Fantastic unit though, and what a breeze to use. The large touch screen is a real joy to use, so easy. In all, I'm very impressed, and I haven't even done an update of the unit yet - must get at that tomorrow!
If that is what you want, you can connect the FX send of the Headrush to the input of the amp, the FX send of the amp into the FX return of the Headrush and the main output of the Headrush to FX return of the amp.
Then you place the FX loop between your compression/dirt and your modulation/delay effects.
It's very close to The Drop, same flaws as well. It works reasonably well for 2 or 3 semitones, but induces a latency I can't deal with, other people may. More than 3 semitones and you get a digital feeling to it, the high frequencies really suffer. I could use it as a temporary band aid for a couple songs in a live situation, but not for anything permanent.

I currently have my pedal board in the FX loop of my GED 2112 ( preamp ) Can I just substitute the Gigboard in the same spot and use it as I did my analog pedal board?

I was thinking that because the GB can be used as Pre to go to FOH , that I would be running a pre into a pre .Then I realized that it would only be doing that if I was using an output from the GB to the pre , and not the FX loop .
Thanks Unmost. If I split the signal within the Gigboard, does that affect Mono/Stereo output?
I'm really feeling like a noob here - first time with an effects unit! 
While I'm getting to know the unit, I was trying out the different distortions to create some sort of 'drive' effect, only to cut the bass from my sound. Now, that got me thinking I need to ad an external preamp pedal like a Sansamp or so, but while I was taking a long warm bath this morning it dawned on me I could probably use an amp sim to act as a preamp pedal.
While I'm getting to know the unit, I was trying out the different distortions to create some sort of 'drive' effect, only to cut the bass from my sound. Now, that got me thinking I need to ad an external preamp pedal like a Sansamp or so, but while I was taking a long warm bath this morning it dawned on me I could probably use an amp sim to act as a preamp pedal.
I have had my Gigboard for three days now...Definatly a learning curve ,but a gentle one compared to my old BOSS GT processor that made me swear to never use a programmable digital system again.I'm really feeling like a noob here - first time with an effects unit!

On the subject , try changing the " TAILS " setting and run one path clean and one dirty. Amp them both at the end with dual heads and cabs. you can then ( i think ) pan them until they sound like you want. I have been watching " mike from headrush " videos to get started.
I was thinking the same thing...But it seems that if I don't go directly into the Headrush input ( as opposed to my preamp ) , there is no signal to trigger the Gigboard into my preamps effect loop. I am trying to use like I did my analog pedalboard ,same place in the rig signal chain.. maybe I just haven't gotten to the right setting yet .
You can hook the instrument input and output of the HeadRush to the FX loop of your preamp, same as with your analog pedalboard. I'm not sure I'm following.
user error !! LOL I had the Headrush main volume down too low to achieve a good signal . THANKS !
