Just got a black snark in the mail yesterday. Works very well. My fender works about the same. But again, the battery life blows.

Yeah, that's the one I have. It works rather good IMO. Does your battery life suck on it though??

Picked up the PW micro, now having said that, my bad, my only stipulation was 'small' but it was a cheap experiment, no blood, no foul. Tried it at rehearsal and it was having trouble in that environment, so I'm not too sanguine about stage. Fortunately, it's just a back up for the Korg plugged into my VT-RM...
I have had it about 2 years and chnged them once. i had a SNARK that ate batteries though.
wow. Ive had the Fender for about two years and have changed the battery in it on average about every two months. Maybe I got a defective one.
I have a couple Snarks and a Planet Waves. Both Snarks have broken (as have several others I'm aware of), but I have a cool way to fix them. When one of the little tabs breaks, super-glue it back on as accurately as possible. After the glue dries on the tab, take a small zip-tie and put it around the three tabs, with a tiny dot of super glue on the outside of each tab to hold the zip-tie in place. Tighten the zip-tie about as tight as it will go, taking care to position the slider where it won't interfere with any of the buttons. Then pop the ball into the socket. Fixed, for good.
Anyway, the Planet Waves doesn't track the B string well at all. The Snark's pretty good, though, so that's what I use.

I usually use a Pitchblack, but I also use a Snark, and I remove it when I'm done because I hate to see tuners hanging off guitars. Did a gig with a dude last night who had one hidden on the back of his headstock where you couldn't see it in front and that was much cooler IMHO.
