Heavier Gauge Strings

I put heavier gauge strings on my guitar, went for a 45-105 to a 55-110, does that mean I should re-setup my guitar? I notice my intonation is a bit off now (12th fret is slightly sharp).

Heavier strings mean a higher tension, which means more of a bend in the neck, so yeah...your choices are either go back to the 45/105's or have a setup done around the new strings.

Do a setup, the relief and intonation have changed. You can probably lower the action aswell if you feel like it. Just curious, what inspired you to change the gauges?

Wanted to try the thicker gauge because thats what harris uses from maiden. Well mine are a bit thicker on the high end. I actually think i will like the tighter strings because I only play fingerstyle so when I get a proper setup it will play alot better. Next I'm gonna probably try some thicker flatwounds and see what the difference is.
