No offence but that thing is pretty ugly.

not bad when you consider that.
plus it's based on a bass you're probably not familiar with anyway.

I recently brought one of these Ibanez ATK305's and love the attacking tones I can get from this bass.
EBMM stingray's and spectors are certainly worth considering but, I reckon this one is one of the best bang for buck basses going round and certainly an awsome bass for any metaller \m/
I'm pretty sure the bassist from Slipknot uses one of these in a 4 stringer.

I would upgrade your amp first. No offence but you could buy a 2000 dollar bass and it will get lost in the mix with the 100 watt amp you are using. Get something that can put out a minimum of 200 watts and then see how your p bass sounds. You may end up saving alot of cash.
Warwick's range from pricey to VERY pricey. Musicman's are pricey. Spector's range from ridiculously pricey to fairly affordable, but not as good. To get a decent Spector (Euro ReBop) you have to pay around $2500AU, which is basicly the same as a Stingray so you may aswell get one of those, they are better IMO.

I've see the bassist from Racer X use a Ric, which by the way is a great hard rock/metal bass. Geddy Lee anybody? I mean come on! Listen to that bass tone on "Anthem." Classic early metal Rush.
