Bob k9eid did a presentation for the Jefferson County (MO) Amateur Radio Club kb0tll on Zoom Saturday morning. Though it's tailored for Ham, I think many of my TB friends might find his EQ'ing lesson helpful. How to be "heard" vs. "mud"...

My first Mississippi River Festival was CDB in '79 (16 yo), never forget Taz' WGP. Crossed the river into IL in my '69 Ranchero with my cousin Tom (14) and some girl (? 15). Good times!...



Gotta say, I had no GAS on Jan. 1, but now I want a Pro7 headset & PR40 mic?!!!

Bob Heil is one of the original Movers & Shakers in the pro audio world. I still have a dog-eared copy of his 1984 book A Practical Guide For Concert Sound, and I vividly remember seeing pages full of Heil Sound PA speakers in catalogs a decade before that book was written. Oh, and I own a Heil PR40 mic, and yeah, it's all that.
Glad to see he's still out there getting it done.

Did he invent the Heil ar motion transfomer?

If we're talking about the same person, his speakers which I heard in the 1970s sounded great.

But, they were out of my budget at the time, so I never bought them.

The air motion transformer was the tweeter.

I had never heard of those before, quite interesting concept and design. Dr. Oskar Heil invented the AMT, and those in the photo were manufactured by Electrostatic Sound Systems in Sacramento, but I'm sure Bob's heard of them!...
