I'm not fully giving up guitar, i'm just branching out. I play in a band where our keyboard player generally plays the bass lines, on some songs lately I've noticed that it would sound cooler to have me play bass guitar and free up his hands for more harmony type work.
I've also always loved playing bass on recordings so it seemed like the time to take a plunge.
