Hello everybody !

Hello everybody,
First of all thank you for accepting me in this forum
my name is Joss, I am a Frenchman living for decades in Spain, :)
I started to play the bass around 1986 when I bought a bass (obviously), I played in a band when I was a student, we were all bad, except the drummer.
I've been playing for many years, yes, but I'm not a regular, I still consider myself a beginner, I've been playing and quitting the bass for very long periods of time.
This year my eldest daughter (professional violinist) has taken my bass and my amp to learn to play it, and she is doing quite well.
So I have decided to get serious with the instrument, so far I have bought an acoustic bass (I always wanted to have one) and a very simple second hand Harley Benton electric bass as a temporary solution, with the hope of buying a better one in the near future.
Now I'm looking for a small combo amp to practice at home without disturbing my wife and neighbors.
I will open another thread about this.
And more or less this is all.
Regards

I forgot to mention that my first bass, is a Hondo Fame Series 8200, made in Korea. Here are the pictures below.

I don‘t know about older Harley Bentons but the new ones are just fantastic. At almost zero costs you will get a stunning bass which is simply excellent. I have a few high priced basses, all of them with active electronics. Then I was looking for some classic, cheap basses with passive electronics, like Precision and Jazz Bass style, although I have a Fender Jazz Bass from 1977 too. Then I tried a Harley Benton and was so much impressed, that I use them now even on live gigs. In the mean time I have six HBs. You can‘t go wrong with them.
