Hi all! Been a lurker here for a while, just figured it was time to introduce myself. My name is Xavier, and I play in a couple country cover bands in the STL area, as well as occasionally filling in for 80's bands too. I love all the info available on TalkBass, you guys are absolutely amazing. Let's get down to why you're all really here though: everyone loves to see gear! My current setup is as follows:
Ampeg PF-500(backup head)
Ampeg SVT-3 Pro
Line 6 Relay G90 wireless
DBX-160A comp
SansAmp RPM pre
Audio Technica M3 wireless IEM
Ibanez SR-755(had the pleasure of replacing the stock bridge recently)

My next few upgrades will be an Avalon U5, selling the SR755 to purchase a Dingwall, and picking up a Fender USA jazz fretless(maybe a Tony Franklin PJ). As for the Dingwall I'll most likely get either a Combustion or NG-2 to start, but in a year or two I will order a white AB2. I see everyone's signatures, and wonder what clubs I would belong in lol. Thanks for stopping by and rock on!

I hope you can afford to be here. You have a nice rig; but, within a few months you will come down with GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) which will compel you to buy more and more gear. You will haunting all the websites that sell gear. You will know every music store and pawn shop in Saint Louis. You will have at least 2 basses and likely more. You will have 2 or 3 amps, 72 or so pedals and a board and be posting with questions on which pickups you should put in the garage sale bass you found. I can see from your post it has already started.
Welcome aboard and my sympathies.

I found the cure for GAS. Its called retirement and fixed income.

Speaking of St. Louis. Right after the big war, late 40's, we would go to Grandma's in Bellville, Ill for Christmas. Baytown, Texas to Bellville, Ill with me, my sister and younger brother in the back seat of the family car for two days. Hated the trip up and back.

Loved the snow and sledding; Grandma lived at the bottom of a hill and a family friend lived at the top of the hill. Could get warm after each sled ride. If there was ice no car could go up the hill so the city would block off all the side streets and the hill then belonged to the kids.

Bringing in some coal to start the cook stove and hot water heater for breakfast was a great adventure that I loved to do. But the most fun was when I would be sent to the local pub for a bucket of beer so the "men-folk" could have their beers after work. Me a 11 year old buying a bucket of beer; WOW only in Bellville, Ill.

Have not thought of that in 50 years.... Thanks for the memory.
