Hey, pretty jazzed to be here. I had been lurking as a visitor for a while and it seemed like a great community; I'm happy to join.
I started playing bass in 1981, when I was a twelve-year old Beatle fan. I played until I was about 18, but never really got passed playing everything in 4/4 time and basic progressions. At the time, I simply chalked it up to "not being musically talented"; looking back now, I realize that I was lazy, stupid and I didn't care - a lethal combination to development.
Recently, I pulled out my bass and was excited to play. I was proud to discover that I am just as good, now, as I was then. Which is to say awful. But with the wonders of the Internet, I expect that to change.
Happy to be here.
