What's up, fellow bassists .... John here from Wisconsin, specifically the Green Bay area. Just been getting re-acclimated to playing bass again, after about a 25 year absence from it. Been playing off/on for past year at home whenever I get a chance ... having kids and working 3rd shift kinda limits my available practice time. I'd rank my skills at this point as intermediate, but planning to upgrade that by the end of 2017, here's hoping.
Currently own the following: a no-name 4 string P-Bass clone, a Rogue LX205B 5-string bass, a Douglas WOB 826 6-string ... and on order, I have an SX Ursa 2 MN 6 Ash 6-string which should get here sometime this week. So yep, I'm a bassist on a budget, lol
Used to own the following 80's 4-string basses back in 1990, before I sold it all then to move to Wisconsin from Seattle: an Aria (can't remember the model number, but it wasn't an SB-1000, I know that for sure), a Peavey (which cost around $300), a Cort headless bass also. And the one bass that I sold that I still kick myself to this day for selling it ... an original Kubicki Ex-Factor in a light blue color, it was pre-Fender. I remember paying $1350 plus tax for it at the time at a local music shop in Connecticut, I think it was used when I bought it. Much regrets afterwards for selling that bass in particular.
But I'm glad to be back in the game after a long absence, and glad to be here too.
