Hey, my name's Ian. I've played guitar and bass for about 15 years and lurk here a lot, I just never made an account.

I try to enjoy and play a little of every genre I can, but I primarily play different flavors of rock. I've just recently joined a sludgey/doomy 3-piece group and I am having a BLAST playing bass. I have a very basic setup (Ibanez GSR206, Ampeg SVT3PRO, Peavey 410TX, newer Rat II) that I plan on expanding/building on soon.

Sounds like you've already got a perfectly good rig, but yes, I'd bet after a little bit of time on here you'll soon be after all sorts of 'upgrades'.
