I gotta admit I was a bit ignorant & curious about who or what Badtz-Maru really was and thought a few others might be too so according to Wikipedia:

Few people on the planet play lower end stuff than me, and even I have to say - you don't want to play that, even if it's funny looking.

Is it possible to buy that pickguard seperate? I could buy it and put it one of my other basses. And, of course, the matching strap. =) Yeah, Squiers are really bad.

Not necessarily Squiers - there are good ones among them - but, it's those Broncos. They're just hideously bad and really not worthy of being played - by anyone.

Good question, Anscari. I was curious too, so I decided to investigate further. Not that I care really, but just for curiosity. It's hard to see on the pics above, but if you click on the link above to the Fender site and enlarge the pic, you'll see it's a single coil, right between the eyes.
