Hi, first post to introduce myself. My name's Alan, I'm 51 and started playing bass just over a year ago having played gu*tar since about 1962. I'm married with 2 teenage girls and I'm a Dangerous Goods Manager for a haulage company.
I play bass in a 4 piece soul band that used to be a 9 piece but it was a lot of hassle so they stripped it down and now everyone's happier and it sounds raunchier. We play most weekends in the NW of England.
For the gear heads - here's what I use;
Fender USA 75 Reissue Jazz Special Edition in CAR
Fender Standard MIJ P
Markbass LMII head
Aguilar GS112
Aguilar GS112NT
EBS Multicomp
In a futile attempt to make myself appear more windswept and interesting I'll tell you that I grew up in Liverpool and was lucky enough to live opposite Paul MacCartney in Forthlin Road where he lived during the Cavern era. I was only young but have a lot of nice memories of the Beatles and all the hoo haa surrounding them. My Mum and brother still live there.
Anyway - here's to ya!
