Hi new here I've recently gotten into playing fretless bass and I love it a lot! I'm trying to do that 80s pop ballad mwah thing. If you know of any bass players I could look at on youtube please let me know!

Here’s a couple nice cuts from a couple of fierce 80s fretless players who cut the mustard. Mwah for days on these.
Mick Karn on the first one and Pino Palladino on the second.

The first song I tried to learn was Cantonese Boy! With the emphasis on TRY. ha ha! Tell me where the other cool kids are hanging out! Dont you have a fretless japan club on here?
Funny thing about Paul Youngs song. All through the 80s I thought that was a synth lead. It's the only reason why I love that song so much. That riff melts into the melody and swims about so gracefully. Years later I found out it was a fretless bass and who Pino was. I knew I had to get a fretless!

They've got some really nice basses there in the fretless club. Best to hide in a corner and gawk.
