I have one of there 8 string basses, and it is an excellence bass. It has a great tone and is well put together. I have a large number of basses, and it hangs with the best of em.
If that bass is as good as the one i have, $200 or much more would not be out of line.
Yes, some sell for less. However when you find a bass that fits you well, don't get hung up on the price when it is that low. Mine is a gem.
The company was bought out by sam ash and sold as an inhouse brand for several years. A Carlo was my first bass back in 2001, cost me 299 new. As others here have stated, 100 bucks seems like a fair used price
