Help a stand-up player buy strings!

Hi everyone, I'm trying to buy new strings for my old electric, and I've been searching for ideas about what strings to buy. I've got an older bass with passive electronics. I mostly play jazz, blues, gospel, and some rock, and I have a GK amp. I think I'd like to stick with round wounds. Other than that, I'm open to ideas! Let me know what you think.

If you like zingy brightness, go with Stainless Steel.
If you like a warmer tone go with Nickle.

Personally, I like boomers. They are nickle plated steel. They start out fairly bright, but mellow down a lot after about one night of playing.

I just started playing alot of electric bass again after playing 99% upright bass for a few years. I am finding myself digging in a little too much, kinda feeling ham-fisted mosty with my right hand.

I put the regular (which is light) gauge D'Addario Chromes flats on my P-bass and although I love the sound, I wish I had more tension.

Kind of a weird transition from the big monster bass to this little toy one!
