Help! Amp (not bass) shocks me, literally...

I edited the first post. My amp's fine, my arm is recovering, and I got my Bullet back together. I'd still like to replace the pickups. If I were to buy one of those, how much would it cost for the install with you guys?

I'm not an employee of Greenshift, though I am friends with the owner and employees. Paul's the guy in charge there right now, and he's capable of putting pickups in that bass, but I don't know what they charge. Their number is (813) 238-4177, and they're open every day but Tuesdays through the summer. I am definitely able to do it too, and I'll do it for free, unless you insist on buying lunch. :D

Haha, I'll be in touch. I'm going to be *crazy* busy with my bass over the next week or so, I'll figure out when we can hit up somewhere good to eat. :)

My money is on open ground and possibly hot/neutral reversed in the outlet. My second choice is open ground on the outlet combined with A/C leakage to the chassis on the amp.

Either way, I am glad that the OP got it solved without getting himself killed, although I would still get the amp checked out.
