Help ! Confused !!

Nothing will happen. If you plug a 8 Ohm cab into an amp with a lowest impedance of 4 Ohms, you will loose a little wattage, maybe the half of it. But this will be only about -3 dB, so the loss of volume will be hardly audible.

The amp is built to give the full 500 Watt @ 4 Ohm. So you are able to plug in another cab with 8 Ohms, two times 8 Ohms in parallel will equal 4 Ohms.

I'm no expert in this, but here's my understanding:

The watts on the cabinet aren't the issue. The cab has a 500 watt power handling, meaning it can take up to 500 watts before it will overheat/be damaged.
Since your head is 500 watts, that shouldn't be a problem (it's even less of a problem considering below).

Your cab being at 8 ohms basically means that the speaker will only receive half the power of the head (250 watts). In other words:
By matching these two, you will not be generating as much volume as if you hooked up a speaker with 4ohms or (more likely), another cab with 8ohms impedence.

Please let me know if I'm wrong about this guys!

Yup. So you could add another 8ohm cab if you want in the future. I would recommend the same exact cab. Or you could trade/sell you're current cab for a single 4ohm cab. If you go this route be weary that if you're 4ohm cab handles anything below 500w you're head could overpower it unless you're careful.

And don't mix and match, my meaning, an 8ohm and 4ohm cab. That will get you 2.67 or something (I'm inebriated). If you're cab(s) equate to less than what your head is, in this case 4ohms, you could have a problem.

Two cabs stacked is more efficient than one, sounds more betterer every time. More weight to the heavy hits, more clarity for having a speaker up high.

Watts aren't a very good measure of loudness. If there was a 4ohm version of the 115 it would be no louder than the 8ohm with that amp.
