Help! EMG PJ set wiring problem ( quik connect )

This is my first attempt at doing a pickup install, is there anything obviously wrong here? At the moment I'm not getting any sound at all :/

As far as I can see it looks ok. I would suggest checking the battery buss connection. When I installed my PJX set didn't work at first bcs the battery buss wasn't making a proper connection.

Thanks for the suggestion, buss seems OK though. Very strange, I checked the diagram about 20 times haha. I get some sound if I put the lead half way into the jack but as soon as the plug hits the second contact in the jack it just goes totally dead

Your tone pot is wired wrong - the instructions show REVERSING one of the connectors so that the arrow on the plug is NOT visible. In your image it looks like you did NOT do that. Check the image I copied from the EMG wiring PDF, and let us know if it works....

^ but that's for the active tone. As far as I can see it said 'passive tone'... with a passive tone you don't need to reverse the connectors.

Ah - that's right, not active tone. Wiring does look right for passive tone.

Maybe switch the cable conenctions at the jack? Hard to tell sometimes which lug is which....

Strange when I installed my PJX set into my Jag special it had a active tone pot included in the kit. The X series pickups don't work with a passive tone control IIRC. So you'll need to get a active tone control from either EMG or a dealer.

I think the OP has a NON-X series PJ set, so passive tone should work fine.

Thanks for the suggestions, I emailed EMG support and even they are confused as to why this is not working haha. It must be something simple, I'll check through everything again..
