Help from someone who owns a MARKBASS TTE 500 amp head

I posted a thread earlier today. I'm trying to find out about my new "used" above amp.

When I power up the amp, every light inside lights up yellow, except the D1 light...which is red.

I thought that perhaps the 12AT7? tube on the right might be weak; thus causing the red light.

I thought that I might remove the cover(14 orkin' allen screws to remove). No wonder Italy lost the war.

I get down to the last screw on the front....and it has some kind of a washer on the inside. Impossible to remove!! Perhaps have to remove both tolex end caps(who knows what might fall apart by their removal), so I cannot even swap out the tube for another.

Any help from a current owner would be greatly appreciated!!

Replied to your other thread. Repeated here in case of future searches:

The amp is as awesome as the manual is lacking, especially given the interactive/passive EQ.

The lights are normal as you've described. For an idea how the EQ works download Tone Stack Calculator and set it to "Marshall".

The amp also works with 1/4" out. An excellent feature, so if you're cab accepts 1/4" input (and all cabs should!) then you don't need as adaptor cable.

Thanks, StayLow! I am going to run a male speakon to male 1/4" out to my Bugera cab. I was going to replace the tubes with some vintages ones from my stash, yesterday. I removed 13 of the 14 hex screws(only in Rome, lol)...and the 14th screw is stripped!! Back to the drawing board!

As I only saw the speakon to speaker cab outs to the cab on the rear(blind, perhaps) did I miss something?

MarkBass usually have a combo output. The quarter inch output is the center of the speakon output jack, assuming it’s a green colored output(combo jack).

I do not have the head in the OP...I just like MarkBass stuff.

Thank you for that! I m sure you are correct. Too late for me, as I just received the speakon cable....but makes sense that the store I purchased it from....had it said up that way. Dumb Darkhorse!
