I subbed for a band friday night and Mustang Sally WAS NOT on the set list. I nearly had a moment when I saw that. (other band I got out of, it was a requirement)

Actually, after I watched "The Commitments" for the first time I couldn't get the word F**K out of my head! Must have been fifty times in the first thirty minutes. Ha! We made a drinking game out of it, a shot every time someone said it. Funny, never saw the end of the movie after that...or the middle for that matter.

Was bored & couldn't sleep last night so I watched "The Commitments" on Netflix. And now I can't get "Mustang Sally" out of my head! Somebody save me!

If you have to get "Mustang Sally" stuck in your head at least listen to Wilson Pickett, The Commitments were to soul what the Monkees are to rock. That being said I like a lot of the Monkees stuff, can't say the same for the Commitments.

I once completely forgot the bassline to Mustang Sally. On stage. Cold sober. Just reached for it and my fingers didn't know where to go.
