Hello! I recently purchased this Music Man Sting Ray fretless bass. I am having a hard time figuring out what it is.
The previous owner built it with different parts to make it look like a 70's Sting Ray. It was sold to me that way, no one was trying to sell it off as the real deal. But, I am trying to figure out what the neck and body are.
I know the bridge was a newer one, it has a B05 serial number. Water slide decal was on the head, then mostly scratched off.
Just curious if anyone knows what make or model the body and neck are? Did Music Man ever have kits?
The neck and body are of quality. Nice solid feeling neck and the body was well built with a nice satin finish. Neither have any date or other markings.
