Help identify these strings please!

Hey TB, I picked up this amazing ‘83/84 Squier P a couple years ago, and still have the strings that came on it. They’re perfect for this bass. So lively and bouncy, with a great snap. Rounds with medium/low tension, likely also medium/light gauge. Anyone know what they are? Thanks!

Ok someone's gonna be on here and nail it but I'm going to guess it's an old school set of fender rounds. If not then it could be an old set of Dean Markley blue steel. The way you described them it sounds like how blue steels are.

Wait a minute...

I see the ball ends are all black. Could they be Blue Steel Nickels? SS vs. NPS... I know one came with all black ball ends and the other came with black and blue ball ends, but I can't recall which is which.

The last stainless steel Blue Steels I put on last year had black and blue ball ends, no cloth on the bridge side, and the silks were a much deeper blue.

So, the ones in the OP's pics must be the Nickel Blue Steels then.

I really like the steels. Let us know how you like the nickel plated strings.
