HELP!!!..loose output jack

Hey, anyone familiar with adjusting loose output jacks in electric basses or guitars? I have a 2001 Ibanez SR800 which barely holds the 1/4" instrument cable. It sits very loose and eventually falls out. The jack still works fine, it's just that what ever clamp-like things inside don't sit tight against the cable plug/prong. I heard you can adjust one of the elongated parts on the backside of the jack to increase interior tension, but have no clue how to do it. This bass has a jack that has to be unscrewed from the inside electronic compartment and even when unscrewed it's not really possible to take the jack out without cutting the three cables (1 to bridge pickup, 1 to neck pickup, and one to 9V battery). Can anyone point me in the right direction in how to go about fixing this problem? The wiring is all fine, it's the jack insides that are a bit loose, but do seem like they can be adjusted with a slight tweek to the inside clamps. It just sounds impossible that this jack is too worn. I own a '93 SR800 as well and its jack is still in great shape and so is my '00 ibby EDC705. There doesn't seem to much info on how to fix this problem anywhere on the net, so I figured I refer to some of my fellow bassists/guitarists who mess around with their electronics. I appreciate any input on this issue. I just have to fix this thing, it's one of my favorite basses.

This can be done with a normal jack, you have one of those cursed barrel jacks, which are unfixable. You'll need to replace it.
