Help me decide on a fretless bass

Oh man, yeah. Very Jealous. :D
If you are referring to the ZON/Lightwave bass it was that bass that made me decide to get this bass (which is now owned by another TBer). I had an order in for the fretless Sonus 5/1 with a quilt maple top, when I saw the article in BP I called Joe to ask about it and the spalted maple. He told me he had another top set of the spalted maple. Fantastic looking (and playing/sounding) bass!

I put the Hipshot bridge and the different knob on the bass. As with my previous fretted Sonus 5/1 that I ordered from Joe this has the Seymour Duncan pickup wired in parallel with only a passive volume control, no active electronics.

Here is the fretted one, with a California burl walnut top, after I sent the bass back to ZON to fit new pickups and electronics, along with some other mods.

Again, I add the Hipshot bridge to this one also.

A 90s American standard fretless for under $600? From where?

And I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure fender never made a lined fretless precision.

Unless "AM" refers to something else.
I have seen them at guitar center i seen 2 red ones they wanted 599 for both and they just has 2001 Fender American P that i missed out on in Sea Foam Green and that was a one year color in the 2000's for 699.00

Some many gorgeous looking basses! Lightwave does seem to have a good return policy. I definitely can't rule them out. I have played fretless before and I have no trouble whatsoever and I'm not really keen on cheap instruments. At the same time I can't afford a $5,000 pedulla, as awesome as that would be. Anyone know anything about this bass? There's a shop near me that has one in stock. Seems interesting as well. Same shop also has the fretless ray, warwicks, and a few pedullas. I just don't know what the prices are exactly!
