Help me decide on a new bass.

I've been thinking of buying the Epiphone Flying V Bass(a fun bass, plus it's got humbuckers), or the Squier Classic Vibe P-bass(that fiesta red is just calling my name!). I've heard great about them both, and i'd just like your opinions and/or overall experience with squier and epiphone basses.

I would go for the Classic Vibe, much more comfortable to play and sounds great right out of the box.

Is it your first bass, or a new bass to complete your weapons ?
Is it's your first bass, i would go for the P, as you will easily play it seated, as opposite to the flying V.
If it's for complete arsenal, i would go for the flying V.

It would be my second bass. Upgrading from a used Ibanez GSR-200 with lots of dings, broken truss rod , the neck has been broken off and repaired(i think),rusty bridge, and rusty screws. And to top it all, it was bought from a guy on the side of the road in florida...NEVER AGAIN.
