Help me pick a car

I totally agree with you Pilgrim, that that applies for most people, but I truly DO want opinions IF they have those things in my list up top. I don't NEED a car now, so I'm not in a hurry and therefore don't fall victim to "well I want something now so let's get this over with".

Some of those suggestions good, but are not very fast. :( That's the dilemma I face.

  1. Gas mileage - meh
  2. Exterior Appearance - Not going to sway my opinion at all
  3. Interior "materials" - Leather, nice trim, all extras for me. Nice, but I don't care enough to make it a real factor

One of the turbo Subarus might be right up your alley.

Yep, I'm looking for something close to this, and I know I'll have to find a deal somewhere to make it work. They are out there, especially in this part of the country.

Subaru, Mazda 3 or 6, and now Saab from 2005-2009 seem to be the frontrunners.

Don't under estimate those CTSs! WRXes are cool, but everywhere. I don't know how much of a unique factor you want, though. Evos are also cool in my book. Eclipses look cool, though I don't know how "fast" they are, or even what your definition of "fast" is.

I drive an '06 Rav 4, the year they changed the body style from the mini sized to the modern size of today. I love my vehicle, new maybe out of your price range, but scour the market. With the V6, sport model, it is super quick, not AWD but in Nashville I dont need it. And it has just the right amount of space with the back seats folded down to fit an Upright and some gear.

Probably because many many people do not maintain their vehicles and pretend they can hammer on them like they're invincible Dakar rally champs. I hear the same thing from almost every Impreza WRX I've seen.

Im curious as to why you say no RWD. If it wasn't for that I'd suggest a first generation CTS-V.

You might be able to find a current generation CTS4 for under $20k... spectacular cars.

One of my friends just picked up a WRX... and it is a very nice car.

Disclaimer: I do work for GM... But I plan to get a new Sonic in the next month or so (but the Mileage/fun ratio for me is pretty high on my list)
