Help me please

I think some lessons would do me good. Maybe fallin' into some bad habits or something. I probably haven't been tested as much as in this current band either so that could be part of it. Maybe thinking in the back of my mind that I just spent way o much money on this bass plays a part too.

I've gone through so many basses. I can't find MY BASS. I play mostly hard rock/classic rock stuff.I use my fingers but occasionally use a pick. I've had Ibanez, BTB SR, Yamaha BB414, BB3000, TRB5, Fender, Pbass USA, Frank Bello model, Gibson Thunderbird, Blackbird, Musicman Stingray 4 and a couple Stingray 5's, BC Rich Warlock, ESP TA500 Tom Arraya sig., Hohner 5 string, Warwick Vampyre RockBass, Peavey Grind, Millenium, SX Pbass special, Schecter Stiletto Studio-5, Most recently a Rickenbacker 4003. Why can't I find the bas that will keep me happy? Any suggestions? I need help! I think I prefer 4 strings now. I've built a few from parts too.
If anyone can give me some suggestions without breaking the bank I would very appreciated.

Thanks

What, no quarter-scale basses on that list? Why not try a EB-3, EB-0, etc.? I've had a 1966 EB-0 for over a decade, and even though I recently got (and am digging) an SX P/J, the fat tone and smaller fretboard of the Gibby is still hard to beat. Of course, it may not be as comfortable to play fingerstyle.

I have owned Gibsons, Fenders, Charvels, Jacksons, SX, Ibanez, Music Man, etc. And my Sadowskys are the best basses I have ever played.

A used Sadowsky can be found for $1700 or so and to me are worth every penny.

If I was in your shoes, I would find a music store that has a liberal return policy and try a bunch of different basses.
