Help Me with My Effects Chain!

Calling all TBers! This is my almost-but-still-waiting-to-be-assembled pedalboard and I'd love some input from those wiser than me.

If you had the same setup and were doing most of your playing at home/in studio, what would your pedal order be (including any use of the FX loop in the Stomp or SLO)?

I would say it depends, ie, what do you use the HX stomp for?

Mainly a signal router and any additional effects that for me are less common (chorus, trem, delay, verb, etc)

Oh and the occasional cab/amp sim since my need for XLR to FOH is pretty slim these days.

(Stomp FX Loop Send > Octabvre > Doom 2 > Proton > Loop Return)
SLO MKiii.

For one, I think Octave > Fuzz sounds and tracks better than Fuzz > Octave. Also, putting the 3Leaf stuff in the stomp's effects loop allows you to toggle any of those 3 on in preparation for needing that synth stack sound, and then click them all on by activating a patch in the stomp with that effects loop. i.e. Less pedal dancing on the fly, and the ability to go from clean to complete octave > fuzz > filter stack with a single click mid song.

good to know I was headed in the right direction! Would it be beneficial to have the SLO upfront so that the gain it provides would head INTO the 3Leaf chain?

I'd try it, though maybe after compression. I like how a low gain OD early on drives things down line. I don't have any experience with the slo though. I could see folks using at the end of a chain to act as as amp.

That makes most sense only if you're using the SLO for a touch of tube warmth and nothing else. If you're using the DI, cab sim, or headphone/aux functions, keep it at the end...

Gotcha. I may try it upfront then.

Any thoughts on using the comp later in the chain so it less affects the dynamic sensitive effects in the loop?

I finally found the sound I had been chasing with two pedals.
A Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature pedal and believe it it not a cheap multi effects pedal.
A Valeton Dapper bass DI multi Effects Pedal.
Paired up, they have the sound I always wanted.

Here's an idea for the panel:

Would it be possible to put the 3leafs in the FX loop of the stomp and then the stomp in the loop of the SLO? Thinking is that I'd get the tube goodness near the front of the chain but still be able to have additional effects (especially time based ones) or mess with EQ before the output of the SLO. Is that flawed thinking?

Enjoying the Cali into the SLO more than I anticipated! Didn't mellow out the dynamics or drive sounds like I thought it might.
