help out a kid!!!!!!

i'm looking to get into making my own basses. i'd like to get a prerouted blank. i'm gonna go crazy on this. what would be a decent cheap blank body for a beginner. and can i do my own neck? all i want to do is the head stock so i don't want to do the fingerboard and everything. what do you suggest? remember, i'm a beginner. i have NO expirience in building basses. so i want something cheap and easy to work with. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!

Start with a cutting board. If that turns out well, try a book shelf. If that turns out well, try a bookcase. If that turns out well move onto a guitar.

You must build skill. There is currently no pill for it.

I disagree. I hated woodworking until I built a guitar. I'll admit that the first one was pretty sketchy, but it gave me an opportunity to build something I really cared about. Now, I can take pride in building furniture and boxes, etc., but I don't think it would have ever stuck without that first guitar project.
