This thread is for all you recording guru's!!!
Ok, I am in a band and we are going to self release an EP. So far right now we have about 80 percent of the EP in demo form.
Link Removed
We did these three songs in the following manner.
Programmed drums
Mic'd Guitar Cab w/ SM57 on it's axis
Recorded bass DI
Recorded the drums w/ everything close mic'd including the hi hat and ride
Vocals were recorded with a SM58 with a pop filter on the mic itself... we let the singer hold the mic (it was a mistake... i know)
My plans for recording the EP is to....
Program all drums at first
Records DI tracks for everything (then ReAMP the signals to Mic)
We used a Peavy 5150 for the guitar sound
What I want to know is... Judging by how the guitars sound... is it possible to get a better tone (and how) These guitar tracks have no been eq'd in any way shape or form.. These are all raw tracks that have no been mixed or mastered.
