And if i had 500 to buy pedals i would buy octaver(ebs, mxr, pog) the green rhino, compressor, mxr80 and if you like flea then definetily some envelope filter(qtron, mxr, groove regulator...). If you buy used you could get all of those. I don't play metal but i play rock and all those pedals are imo very useful to rock/metal music.

Phasers, flangers etc. Are nice to have but those pedals i mentioned are more useful.

Thanks for your feedback Danikettu. I've watched some videos and the mxr octave sounds pretty good... I'm gonna get one of those.
Now the battle it's between the mxr80 and the vt bass... trying to figure it out wich preamp will suit better to my taste.

Have you checked out a Dr. Scientist - The Elements? It's a great distortion that you can get for $160 used. I love mine
