Help? - Tapco Link.USB

I recently purchased a digital recording audio interface type of thing. From the title you can see it’s a Tapco Link.USB. It’s a pretty nifty toy. Trouble is, I can’t figure out how to record with the dang thing. I must be computer recording dumb or some thing. The program they gave me to use along to side of it is Tracktion 2 I believe. I was just looking for a cheap way to get my music recorded. Also, I used a different program that I know how to record with and it recorded alright but there was this awful feedbackish type of sound in the back ground. It seems that this thing might be nice…well… if I could use it that is. So, any help?

I'm not familiar with that interface or the software but i'd recomend you read the manual for both, I'm assuming you have to set the software corectly to be able to record. These days it is not unusual for the manual to come as a PDF file on the instalation disc so try there. Sorry for not much help.

I have the very same interface, and it worked right away for me. I have even tried it on a Windows machine. Just install the drivers and the software as described in the manual. Should be OK.

If you're new to DAW, you'l need to read up on it took me about 2-3 months to get proficient with it.

There's a new Traction video tutorioal on the market for about $17, search on HarmonyCentral for it.

I've been using Traction 2 for over a year now and its great.

I printed out the whole manual and put it in a binder and that helps looking thigs up.

Also, visit mackie.com, traction forum, helped me out alot.

I used a Mackie Onyx 1220 w/firewire and really like it.
