Help The Dude Get A Bed

Look for a place the offers some kind of return policy. I know some mattresses offer a 30 night "sleep guarantee" type of policy. Then again, those may not be the mattresses in your price range.

Some other guys are suggesting you go check it out in person. I agree. Spend an evening or afternoon checking out some mattress stores. Then you can go home and do some research based on the brand names you checked out.

I do know this about mattresses......many times mattress companies will produce a model for a specific retailer. Like Macy's may have the "Alpha" model from Sealy, and only Macy's will sell it. It is quite confusing, I agree.

I love Ikea cause everything matches and you can get Swedish meatballs, but I've been warned about crappy beds from there...I've also seen one two many press board cabinets that don't stand the test of time....I'm trying to impress the ladies without spending 5k on tempurpedic space foam (although I have one of their pillows and damn is it nice)

Oh yeah definitely - the stuff there varies though from garbage to great. Even the best stuff is fairly cheap in comparison to other places though. The bed I bought my kids has now withstood 4 years of being jumped on, bumped into, scratched and banged around and still going strong.
You have to go and take a look, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find something.

Buying a mattress sucks. I bought one last year from American mattress. Definitely get one from a place with the return policy. I was used to sleeping on a futon, so i thought firm would be right up my ally. I wasnt diggin' it at all, exchanged it for something else no hassle.

i have a mattress that is a few years old but I plopped down a little over 100 bucks I think for a temperpedic mattress topper and it's the most comfortable bed I've ever had now. Consider that as an alternative if the ones you find arent quite up to what you want for how much you have to spend.
