Help to Identify 5 String

This was thought to be an early Performance but is not. Any idea who could of made this awesome bass. Plays exceptional and is very punchy.
Here is the thread for it. Debating is I want to sell it.

No way. Not taking off the neck

Just a guess: Looks like a Fender MIM Jazz Deluxe with a Warmoth replacement neck and some brand replacement pickguard. There were a few FSR basses issued with swamp ash bodies.

Highly doubt that. Warmoth doesn't make necks with binding like that anyway. I remember the original holes under the bridge were for a Gotoh , I'll check again. The holes for the bridge would be what to look for. Not sure what am or mim deluxe bridge holes would be.

Pulling the neck is your best bet to get any real information. Since you're unwilling to, all we can offer are gusses.
My guess is it's a parts bass.

Warmoth does in fact do white pearl binding as an option for their MIM standard 5 neck.. i just "built" one on the site. EXACTLY as seen.

You have a nicely appointed Warmoth parts bass.

Gotoh Tuners as shown.
Even the Badass is a selectable option.
after reviewing the pictures further, I misselected the option for the jack route on body edge (it IS an option i just did not select it in the builder)

Moment of truth: It's a B. Hefner Company (USA) assembled bass.

Either a 90s Jazz Deluxe with a Warmoth neck, or a Warmoth head to toe with similar pickups to the Suhr era Jazz Duluxe basses (would be my guess). Popping the control plate out and posting some pics of the guts should offer some info as well.

But, as others have said, seeing the butt of the neck and the neck pocket should reveal a lot.

I Just updated the thread. It's a B. Hefner Company (USA made) neck and most likely an AM Deluxe body

Is the EQ/tone kind of "scooped"? If so I'm still betting on 90s Suhr era Fender electronics....and likely either USA or MIM Deluxe loaded body. Even the knob layout is the same. Maybe they had to route the neck pocket a little for the replacement neck and that's why there's zero info in the pocket.

I owned one that had a twisted neck. And I know one other person who did too. Maybe it was fairly common to have to replace the necks on Deluxe basses from that era?

THeres no info on the body. If you look at the FS thread I state its an AM deluxe preamp. Im guessing its an AM body with a replacement neck
