HELP! Unknown made in usa (?) bass please identify

I think you're joking. Alembic wouldn't put the screw holes right on the glue seam, like on the back of that headstock.

I mailed Mica from Alembic about this bass and she thinks it can be a highly modified Epic.
Serial number checks out to be a short scale Epic sold in the Philippines, body would have been Mahogany with Birds eye Maple top...
So according to Mica it can be an original neck with replaced body (and electronics/hardware)
She wonders what happened to this poor guy...

I just pulled my Alembic Epic out, and..yes, mine looks just like the one in FC Bass's picture. Screws are right on the glue line. So, it may very well be an Alembic neck, grafted onto a replacement body. Is it worth the money? Well, not to me, but only because I'm a lefty, and don't particularly want a fretless anything, anyway. But otherwise...

I have all parts here: Complete p/J electronics set and almost all hardware (no tailpiece, but could do stb)
Too bad the pictures are not very clear... It looks like the fingerboard suffered some from the fretless conversion and I think it's kinda strange that the original tuners and nut weren't used for the rebuild.
I would love to see a picture of the volute and the neck/body joint to verify it's indeed Alembic, though I agree with Mica - Headstock shape and serial number layout/execution looks exactly right.

The Epic is one of the baddest basses ever IMO.

I still think it's entirely possible that the Epic Mica traced to The Philippines was accessed by some local builder who took down the measurements and just copied the authentic serial for his own purposes. The headstock logo looks sketchy, and also lacks the "Alembic" legend. The nut doesn't seem correct either, from what I can see.

not yet im currently bargaining for a reasonable price for a copy.just in case i end up with well, a "copy"
seller says it was shipped to south korea as body and neck only.his story does not match which makes me doubt even more
