HELP: what's the better A/E

Takamine EG512C Acoustic-Electric Bass
or the
Alvarez Regent Series RB30SC Acoustic-Electric Bass

anyone own either of these models, or played either of them?

The Alvarez is an apple. The Tak is an orange. Today, I like apples.
Seriously tho I've played a few Tak basses, spruce topped and maple topped, and the strange orange maple top Tak was very near to the top of the A/E bass heap to my ears. It is a large instrument.
