This might sound stupid, but I'll ask anyway since I'm new to this. Would it be better to spend about $300 or a little more on a cab and head, then to spend $150-250 on a combo amp. I'm a beginner and I'm just going to use it to practice at my house either by myself or with one or two guitarists. I don't really see any gigging for me in the future, but who knows what could happen. Thanks

dude i think you should go for the combo, if you are not going to play gigs soon and you dont need massive volume..
check the peavey tnt, i used to have it, its kinda big but its really versatile and loud enough to play with a band

its really more about bang for the buck than combo vs head/cab.
get the best set up you can afford. I'll take a GOOD combo over a mediorce what ever any day.
