Hello everybody- I need some help choosing some speaker cabinets- I bought recently a traynor yba 200- I always liked tube amps and this is pretty light. I want to get 2 cabinets lightweight- Where I live I will never get the opportunity test many cabinets so I am going to go on suggestions and instinct. I want something for small venues like clubs and also outside. Something cabable of good volume outside and maybe only one cabinet indoors. Weight is another factor nothing over 50-60 pounds Max per cabinet. Maybe a (1x15 or 2x12) bottom cabinet and a (1x10 or 3X10 or a 3 way for the top end) cabinet. Without getting into the Brand debate yet, suggestions, thoughts??? Thanks everybody- AL

The new Traynor TCs will match up with that beautifully, IMO. 2x10 + 1x15 is my current favourite cab combo.
Thanks Nick- The tc 210 and tc 115 are on the short list. What I am looking for in this question on this thread is (for the application that I have described what combination and size of speakers will give the the vesatilaty and work the best together, that I am looking for??? Example a (1x15 cabinet and a 2x10 cabinet) or maybe a (2x12 cabinet and 2x10 cabinet)??? Suggestions??? Once I figure this out then I will look at brands- Thanks again- AL
I use a 310 and a 115 and they work very well together or seperate.The 310 can do about any gig and is light and portable and I can add the 115 if I have to be really loud.The 210 and 115 would work well too but you would have a harder time using one cabinet by itself and keeping up with a drummer.A 212 and a 210 would be very nice too.
Yeah, I realized you didn't want brands, but the YBA + TC thing is just a match made in heaven, IMO.
I know a LOT of guys have been switching to 12s lately, especially the double 1x12 mini-stack, but I find that they're not loud enough for some situations (ie: metal without PA support). As I said, I'm a big fan of the 2x10 + 1x15 combo - big 15-style bottom and low mids, with the clarity of 10s. However, that can get a little too boomy, especially if you're used to the more common 4x10 + 115.
The question is, what kind of music are you playing and what kind of tone do you like? It's easier to tailor speaker choice to your own choice.

Thanks again Nick and Blues Bass 2- I have started playing again from a long hiatus. A little more background. I am playing a wide variety of music everything from Pop, R & B, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, and even some Country. As you can see I want a versatile setup. At first I thought the 1x15 / 2 x10 setup was it! A tried and true combo but I am intertaining the idea that a 2 x 12 cabinet instead of the single 15 would be less boomy, and move more air because of the greater serface area, go as low or lower and produce more volume being better for outdoors, and faster than the 1 x 15 or a better stand alone cabinet than the 1 x 15 or the 2 x 10 by themselves. Does this make since??? Or do I have it all wrong??? Thoughts???????
