Help with first buy please

Hi there,

I was just wondering whether anybody could give me suggestions on my first buy for bass effects. I've looked up many multi-effects and pedal boards, but haven't got the chance to try them, so I can't decide what I would choose. I'm not into complicated-alien effects. I'm looking for a very nice distortion (Something that sounds really heavy), delay and reverb effects. (Mainly, I want to achieve a mix of Pink Floyd - Rush - Heavymetal sound)

Hopefully this thread will help other people that have the same problem.

Any suggestions?

There's nothing in your public profile about your setup. Please share what bass(es) you play, what head/cab/combo you use, and what your total amount of $ you're willing to spend in these effects.

Generally, Boss, Digitech, and EHX are good starting points as they are less expensive than other pedals...

If money's an issue: EHX Bass Big Muff (search it for more info on here), Ibanez AD9 (on ebay), EHX Holy Grail Plus (ebay).
