Help with Ibanez SR300 wiring

Hi everyone. Hoping for some wiring help. This SR300 was donated to our church. The wiring was gutted when we got it. Looks to be in pretty good shape otherwise. I have a Belcat preamp on the way that I believe to be appropriate to this bass. I am pretty handy with the soldering iron, but my experience is with passive P basses.

The humbuckers have a wiring that I have never seen before. It looks like a hot wire inside of some other wiring? I have a picture to describe what I mean. Also, there is what looks like a ground wire underneath the pickups. Can someone help me with what I should solder and where? It would be much appreciated!!! Here are some pictures I took. Center wire is hot. Surrounding wire is shielding. Connect the shielding to ground.

Does the shielding and the black ground wire under each pickup get wired to the same spot? Thanks!

Shield to back of potentiometer. Ground wire from shielding paint can go to the same spot. Just like a P bass.

Black wire may go to preamp if req'd.

Preamp is not a must. You can wire it like a passive jazz bass right away.

I thought about doing this also. May yet do it. I had read that these stock pickups were low output, so I figure a preamp made sense. Especially since there originally was a preamp in there to begin with. The preamp I bought was was really cheap ($14) so if it is junk I will try the passive route. Thanks all!
