Help with J to PJ conversion please.

Ok I have a local luthier who does incredible work. I have an 04' Jazz MIA. I love the bass, the way it looks, the way it feels, plays, ect but I just want that P bass sound. So I have been posting here and HCAF trying to trade it for a P bass.
Instead of that, since I would love to just keep it why not add a P pup to it? I dont care about resale value.
My concern is the pick guard. Can you buy a Jazz bass pick guard cut for a P pup? Otherwise my guy will have to cut it.
The question is, can it be cut (if it need be) so that the P pup will consume the J hole. Or...can I buy a J pick guard blank?

Buy a guard from warmoth you can have it ordered to be a j guard with a P cut out, cutting your old guard will look like crap because the J pickup is longer and you will see it still in the gaurd after the P spot is routed,

Yeah I figured the stock pick guard wouldnt work.

Note that in order for the P pickup to be placed in it's traditional location, the pickguard shape has to be extended in order to keep the route from going off the edge of the pickguard.
