help with new bass bought online..

The Squiers use push on knobs. My VM TB knobs fell of at the store!

I replaced mine with knobs that use a set screw. If you carefully align the screw at the split on the shaft, it will be fine. I used jazz-knobs on mine but any of the knobs for solid-shaft pots should work....and they are pretty cheap.

you just need some glue, or maybe but some scotch tape around the black plastic, then push the metal dome back on. Id remove the plastic from the pot before glueing or taping. Once its dry put it back on gently. No big deal.

And then you'll never get the knob off when the pot ends up going bad, and will ruin a pickguard trying.

Please people... stop giving bad advice that will end up ruining a person's bass.

Look at the pic - the knob cover came loose from the inside - super glue the two pieces together and it's fixed.

Please people... stop reprimanding others who are trying to help
